Wine & cheese Lecture from Dan Fontaine: Whatever Happened to ‘Go outside and play’?

May 17, 2014 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

$35

Another great season of wine tastings and lectures is scheduled this summer as the Garden kicks-off this very special series.  Nature Deficit Disorder has been in the news a lot lately. How can we help children (and grandchildren) reconnect with nature in a world completely different from the one we grew up in? The executive director of the Wilderness Youth Project talks about Santa Barbara’s role in the new nature connection movement and different strategies for making kids excited about being outside again. Buy a Series Passport and come to all five or choose your favorites, but reserve early because these informal gatherings sell-out quickly.  Each lecture begins with a wine tasting and conversation with a local vintner in the Courtyard.   An array of delicious appetizers is provided by our series food sponsors, Fresh Market and Ojai Jelly Company.

Wine Sponsor: Condor’s Hope

$25 members / $35 non-members.  Includes admission.
